Four pairs of sterling silver open salts and pepper shakers. Made by Tuttle in Boston, 1929-30. Each salt: Bellied bowl with gadrooned rim and 3 dolphin supports. Each pepper: Baluster with pierced domed cover, gadrooning, and 3 dolphin supports and finial. Hallmarks include no. 55. Three have partial date codes for the first and second years of Herbert Hoover’s presidency. Very good condition and patina.

$1,365.00Edwardian sterling silver Mother Goose porringer. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York. Bowl has straight sides with open tree handle. Acid-etched on exterior in pictures and text is Little Tom Tucker. In one frame: Bow-wow-wow! Whose dog are though? In other: Little Tom Tucker’s dog, bow-wow-wow! Scrolled frame vacant for engraving whose porringer this is. Hallmark includes pattern no. 57961 and director’s letter m (1907-47). Very good condition.

Precariously perched on rim is cast cupid figure. A chubby thigh hangs over the rim while a hand dangles in midair. A cylindrical bag filled with clubs is looped around one wing. Lunette-form with acid-etched scenes from Mother Goose, including Little Red Riding Hood, the Three Bears, and Humpty Dumpty. In center frame sits the old dame herself surrounded by boys and girls. Acid-etched ornament heightened with engraving: Naturalistic plants (including thistles, daisies, and ferns) and loose, fluid scrollwork with cloud motif.
