Repousse silver footed bowl. Made by S. Kirk & Son in Baltimore, ca 1880. Curved sides and raised foot. Allover repousse with fruits and flowers on stippled ground. Rim in form of trefoil arcade. A very nice piece in the historic 11/12 (that is, 916) alloy. Fine condition.

Fine craftsmanship and higher-than-sterling 934 alloy. Hallmark includes date letter and export symbol. Also stamped “sterling.” Very good condition.

American sterling silver soup ladle, ca 1878. Tapering handle and shaped ovalish bowl. Stylized ornament. Arched terminal with chased cherub perched on scrolling tendrils, and oval frame (vacant). Bowl has engraved flowers, leaves, and scrolls. A charming piece in the advanced aesthetic taste. Indistinct maker’s mark - possibly New York maker Wood & Hughes, which had a line of stylish flatware. Hallmark includes patent date 1878. Very good condition.

Victorian sterling silver soup ladle. Made by Thomas, Walter & Henry Holland in London in 1899. Tapering handle with deep round bowl. Double-sided ornament on handle with carved flowers and strapwork on stippled ground – stylish though a tad old fashioned at the turn of the century. Terminal reverse has engraved armorial. Hallmarked. Good condition with age-related wear and rubbing. It’s been used and can continue to be used for another couple centuries.

Party-size sterling silver cocktail shaker, ca 1940. Curved and tapering sides with capped scroll handle, stubby diagonal spout with built-in strainer, short neck, and stepped round foot. Cover and spout cap bun-form with stepped “bull’s-eye” finial. Hallmarked Watson, a maker located in Attleboro, Mass., that was acquired by Wallace in the mid-1950s. Hallmark includes no.
