George III sterling silver basket. Made by Thomas Robins in London in 1808. Tapering rectilinear bowl with swing u-form handle and raised foot. Gadrooned rim with shells and leaves. Handle sides leaf-capped. Armorial with lion rampant and turreted fortress engraved in well. On foot underside are engraved 2 interlaced monograms and the phrase “L’amitie and L’estime”. Hallmarked. Very good condition and patina.

Large Edwardian clear cut-glass vanity jar with sterling silver cover. Bellied bowl with notched flutes and short neck. Star cut to underside. Cover top has central scrolled cartouche (vacant) surrounded by foliate scrolls alternatingly inset with palmettes and diaper ornament.
