Magnificent Sterling Candelabra, Howard & Co., 1902
| This magnificent pair of American Sterling Silver 6-Light Candelabra was made by Howard & Co., New York, in 1902. The bases are marked with Howard & Co., Sterling, New York and 1902 for the year the candelabra were made. The bases are weighted, but are of very heavy gauge. The arms are unweighted and weigh a total of 204 Troy Ounces. The candelabra are made in the George IV style and are beautifully cast with undulating acanthus leaf and shell form motifs. The bases are useable on their own as monumental candlesticks. The 5 branch (6 light) arms detach from the bases with a bayonet mechanism. The 12 bobeches are detachable as well. The candelabra are in excellent estate condition with minor imperceptible age imperfections. These are true descendents of the gilded age and would add stature to any home. Height: 20 1/2 Inches.
