This sterling silver and mixed metals Berry Spoon by Tiffany & Co. is one of the best examples of a piece of flatware made in the Japanese taste we have ever seen. The bowl is silver gilt, the handle is hand hammered and applied with a ladybug and grapevine inlaid with copper, and the back of the handle is inlaid with copper and is applied with a gold blossom. The spoon is marked Tiffany & Co., pat. 1880, sterling silver pat 1880 (overstruck with “m”) and other metals, 910. The 910 is an actual pattern number Tiffany used to specifically identify this particular mixed metals piece of flatware. The back of the handle is engraved with a monogram in the Japanese style. This berry spoon is truly magnificent and unique. It is in its original condition, with no visible repairs, and retains its original patina. Length: 9 3/8 inches. Condition: see above.   Price: $6,500   Stock #BE881
