| A substantial Antique Austrian Silver Desk Blotter designed in a classic French style. The large, oval finial is awash in an ornate figural fauna motif and is bordered by a beautiful beaded edge. And the four corners of the blotter are decorated with a soft scroll design. A century ago, blotters were necessary for blotting the ink from paper after using a fountain pen. Nowadays, they make perfect paper weights while adding a fabulous flourish to any desk. Made in Austria, circa 1900. Nice Patina. Perfect Condition. Heavy gauge Silver. The blotter measures 8 ¼ in.
