This amber to green art glass vase was made by the Quezal glass factory circa 1905. The ovoid body is overlaid and applied with a finely engraved undulating Art Nouveau silver overlay decoration of flowers amidst foliage by Gorham Mfg. Co. of Providence, RI. The vase has the engraved mark of Quezal and D1150 on the underside of the base. The silver overlay design is hallmarked with Gorham’s maker’s mark. Quezal was founded in 1902 by two craftsmen who worked at the Tiffany Favrile glass factory in Queens, along with several other artisans. Quezal glass was on the level of glass produced by the Louis Comfort Tiffany and Steuben studios. During its heyday, Quezal glass was more highly prized than the art glass imported from the French factories of Galle and Daum. Height: 5 3/8 Inches. Condition: Very Good estate condition.   Price: $3,000   Stock #BE991
