Sterling Silver Lord Robert Pattern Candelabra C 1950

This is a stately sterling silver pair of 5-light candelabra by the famous American silversmith, International Silver Company of Meriden, Connecticut. They were made circa 1950 and are fully hallmarked with the International Silver Company’s trademark, the pattern name, pattern #WN59-3 and sterling. The 5 light pair of candelabra was made in the American interpretation of the English Georgian Regency Style. The candelabra are of elegant oblong shape with gadroon-decorated borders, the corners with shell and acanthus motifs. Although the candlesticks are weighted, they are of heavy gauge. The detachable arms are not weighted and are solid sterling silver. The central light is fitted with a flame form sterling silver finial, which may be used as a candlesnuffer. These candelabra may be used not only as candelabra, but as more informal candlesticks as well, when the arms are removed. Weight of branches only: 114 Troy Ounces. Height: 20 1/2 inches.
