This stately pair of Victorian period sterling silver mounted Wine Decanters was made by Finley and Taylor of London in 1889. The pair is fully and appropriately hallmarked on the foot, neck and on the interior of the hinged lid. The silver mounts are engraved and decorated with a swirl pattern, repeating the swirl pattern on the body of the pear form cut glass. The lid has a simple twisted knop. This beautiful and stately pair of wine decanters was made in England during the period of the Victorian Empire when “Britannia ruled the world.” The Victorians were known for manufacturing fine silver to fill every need in the homes of prosperous members of society. Today, these decanters would be befitting of any style of décor, whether contemporary or traditional. Height: 12 1/4 inches. Condition: Very Good with minor impression in silver lid where lid touches the handle.   Price: $8,500   Stock #BE614
