| Marcus and Co. opened their doors at 857 Broadway, New York in 1892. From its inception, the Marcus & Co. workmasters produced extraordinary pieces of jewelry and silver for sale in their retail store. Marcus was best known for its beautiful Art Nouveau period jewelry as well as their uniquely American silver of a very high level of craftsmanship. This beautiful, statuesque bowl is circular with a rollover rim cast, chased and repousse with an openwork cascading scroll form acanthus leaf decoration divided into sections by a tapered beaded motif. The whole is raised on a conforming openwork bracket four footed base. Diameter: 22 inches. Weight: 157 Troy Ounces. Condition: Excellent Estate Condition.
