An American Sterling Silver Mint Julep Cup made by the Trees Silver Co. of Lexington, Kentucky. This mint julep cup is adorned with an applied figural horse head and is engraved with the title “VICAR HANOVER” and “LITTLE BROWN JUG 1964”. Vicar Hanover was the winner of this famous harness race for 3 year olds located in Delaware County Ohio. Billy Haughton was the Driver who won with a time of 2.01, Billy was also the winning driver in 1955,1968,1969, and 1974. It is hallmarked with a stamp of a tree, TREES and STERLING. Excellent Patina. Perfect Condition. From my research, Mr. Trees was a jeweler who began making these English style beakers in the 1950’s and they became a favorite of the horse racing set to commemorate the winners. The beaker 3 ¾ in. tall and measures 2 7/8 in. in diameter at its’ mouth. 4.5 Troy ounces. Very good condition   Price: $950   Stock #BE423
