Silver And Enamel Cut Glass Powder Jar Circa 1920
American Sterling Silver and Enamel Cut Glass Powder Jar. The pale blue, pink and green enamel is translucent, and is enameled over a geometric floral engine turned ground. The jar is beautifully hand cut with a geometric band and pendant floral wreathes. This piece is unmarked and is probably American in origin. The center of the lid is open. This opening originally functioned as a hair receiver: women would save hair from their brush and later use it to create fuller updos. This powder jar is now often used as the perfect receptacle for cotton balls. Diameter: 4 1/2 inches. Condition: Very Good Price: $550 Stock #BE408
