Of tapered cylindrical form, hinged lid, the lid with lacquered compressed bun form finial, the body with geometric lacquered handle, the body with applied lower border of bell form design, the whole raised on reeded foot. Jean E Puiforcat joined his family’s silversmithing firm in 1922. He was mathematically inclined and transferred his creativity into the Art Deco designs for silver for which he became known. This teapot is a prime example of his creations. The applied border and
use of lacquer combined with silver exemplifies his style in the highly collected Art Deco period pieces.
