| This is a lovely sterling silver and cut crystal compote by Hawkes in a timeless design. This beautiful compote is supported on a sterling silver circular pedestal base and has an elegant circular compote of cut crystal with wonderful decoration including a central patterned wreath, a band of swags and floral bouquets, and a wide band near the rim of cross hatching with egg shapes at intervals. All of the decoration is crisp and refined showing remarkable detail and harmonizes well together. The compote is in excellent condition and is a fine example of the quality and craftsmanship of American cut crystal. It measures approx. 2 5/8" high, approx. 5 3/8” in diameter, and is marked on the base with the marker's mark of Hawkes, and the words Sterling, 36 PWTS.
