| This is a most appealing pair of Japanese sterling silver vases prettily decorated in the style of the Aesthetic movement. They each have a distinctly Eastern silhouette with elongated bodies topped by long slender necks which taper into scalloped circular upper rims. Their elegant and shapely forms have each been expertly and effectively embellished by a lovely applied design depicting leafy trailing vines laden with enamel wisteria clusters.
This asymmetrical pattern swirls sinuously all around the surface and has been delightfully and subtly accentuated by the addition of green enamel highlights to carefully selected groupings of the leaves and by delicate mauve enamel accents.
All of the craftsmanship has been meticulously executed with exceptionally fine detailing on all the assorted leaves and swirling vines.
The vases are in very good condition with a soft and pleasing patina on the silver and a lovely luminous quality to the delicately colored enamel work.
The underside of each of the bases has been clearly with the mark of the Japanese maker. They are perfectly charming and add creedence to the statement that good things do indeed come in small packages! Price: $3,800.00 Stock #BC426 |
