GORHAM SILVER VASE WITH GREEN & PINK CRYSTAL CIRCA 1900

Here is a fine quality American sterling silver bud vase in the Art Nouveau style, beautifully made and artistically combined with a very pretty green cut to pink crystal insert. The lovely removable insert has an elegantly undulating upper rim and the surface of its gently tapering silhouette has been stylishly decorated all around with a delightful and skillfully cut design of wind-blown daisies on gracefully bending stems. The crystal consists of an upper layer in a pretty green shade and the floral design has been neatly cut into this to reveal a lovely rose pink shade beneath. The distinctive and unusual bi-colored crystal fits snugly into a pretty pierced silver container which rests upon a circular stepped base. The container has been effectively decorated all round with a design of curvilinear flowers and leaves epitomizing the energy and liveliness of the Art Nouveau style. The vase is in excellent condition throughout. The crystal has no chips or damage and has been crisply and deeply cut to emphasize and maximize the beauty of its two contrasting shades. The silver has fine detailing on all the floral decoration and has been clearly stamped on the underside of the base with the identifying symbols of the Gorham Corporation of Providence, R.I., the word Sterling and the letters PR 1. It would make a graceful and stylish addition to any setting, whether used as bud vase or as a decorative accent piece. It measures approx. 5” in diameter at the upper opening and stands approx. 12 ¼” tall.   Price: $2,250.00   Stock #BC246
