This is an exquisite and rare pair of sterling silver grape serving tongs by the premier American silversmiths at Tiffany & Co. from the renowned Vine pattern. These tongs are emblematic of Tiffany’s artistry in the later 19th century under the direction of Edward C. Moore, and were probably made on special order. The handles are decorated on both sides with the classic Grape Vine decoration featuring a matte background with an asymmetrical design of curling vines and grapes. The larger, rectangular spade is undecorated, while the smaller one has pierced decoration of grapes and leaves, surrounded by a framework of vines. These grape serving tongs are in very good condition and are Tiffany’s finest quality of flatware. This piece measures approx. 8” long, and is stamped inside the handle with the maker’s mark of Tiffany & Co., and the word Sterling. These unusual antique silver grape tongs are a lovely example of the height of nineteenth-century American design. A perfect example of when dining was an art!   Price: $3,000.00   Stock #G683
