| This is a gorgeous sterling silver basket by Tiffany & Co. in an ornate modern design. Standing on a tall circular footring, the wide flaring bowl of this basket has magnificent pierced and engraved decoration forming a wide band of intertwined loops with abstract flower designs. The rim of the basket is trimmed with a scalloped band with shells. It has a swing-arm handle of solid silver with lovely engraved bellflower decoration. Like all of Tiffany’s work this bowl is heavy gauge silver and has been expertly crafted. This large basket measures approx. 11” high over the handle and 12 1/2” in diameter, and weighs approx. 36 troy ounces. It is marked under the base with the mark of Tiffany & Co., the words Makers, Sterling Silver 925-1000, pattern number 16978C, order number 3151, and the letter M for John C.
