| This is a lovely sterling silver tray by the premier American silversmiths at Gorham in a romantic Edwardian design. This small oval tray has a plain field and deep, elliptical sides that have been elaborately pierced with openwork decoration of leafy scrolls in an embellished neoclassical style. The tray has two cut-out side handles, and is finished with a simple band of beading. This tray is in excellent condition and shows Gorham’s superior craftsmanship. It measures approx. 14” long and approx. 8 1/2” wide, and weighs approx. 14 troy ounces. It is marked on the reverse with the Gorham maker’s mark, the word Sterling, pattern number A1075, 14 IN, and the date symbol for 1899. This beautiful antique silver tray is both refined and decorative. It would make an excellent tabletop tray for a vanity or washstand, or would make an elegant serving piece for small hors d’oeuvres.
