Sterling Silver Pair Of Sauce Boats Starr Circa 1900

This is a beautiful pair of sterling silver sauce boats by the renowned New York silversmiths at Theodore B. Starr in a timeless Rococo Revival design. Each stands on four scroll feet with elaborate shell joints bordered with scroll and shell decoration and has a lobed oval body with a dramatic curved rim that is trimmed with a band of exuberant shells and scrolls. Each has an elaborate C-scroll handle with curly vegetal decoration. Each sauce boat is in excellent condition and is a heavy gauge that shows Starr’s superb quality and craftsmanship. Each measures approx. 4 ¾” high, approx. 8” long across the handle, and together weigh approx. 32 troy ounces. Each is marked under the base with the maker’s mark and symbol of Theodore B. Starr, the word Sterling, and pattern number 170. This lovely pair of antique silver sauce boats would add a special touch to any table.   Price: $4,000.00   Stock #BC893
