| This is a beautiful pair of sterling silver sauce boats by the renowned New York silversmiths at Theodore B. Starr in a timeless Rococo Revival design. Each stands on four scroll feet with elaborate shell joints bordered with scroll and shell decoration and has a lobed oval body with a dramatic curved rim that is trimmed with a band of exuberant shells and scrolls. Each has an elaborate C-scroll handle with curly vegetal decoration. Each sauce boat is in excellent condition and is a heavy gauge that shows Starr’s superb quality and craftsmanship. Each measures approx. 4 ¾” high, approx. 8” long across the handle, and together weigh approx. 32 troy ounces. Each is marked under the base with the maker’s mark and symbol of Theodore B.
