ANTIQUE ENGLISH STERLING SILVER GOBLETS 1860-1912

This is a comprehensive selection of beautifully engraved English Victorian and Edwardian sterling silver goblets, all fully hallmarked and exquisitely decorated with the very finest quality workmanship. The goblets range in size and complexity of design and can be purchased separately or in any combination. Each one is delightfully different and has its own lovely and unique decoration, primarily based on extraordinarily detailed and meticulously rendered depictions of leafy branches and other naturalistic flora and fauna. In many cases the pretty decoration has been continued onto the circular bases, most of which have also been elegantly encircled with a single row of miniature beadwork. The insides of almost all the goblets have been nicely finished with a light gold wash. Each goblet has been inscribed with a full set of English hallmarks, the earliest dating from 1860 and the latest dating from 1912. The majority of the goblets have been stamped with the leopard’s head showing that these items were made in the city of London. Three have been stamped with an anchor representing the city of Birmingham and three have been stamped with a crown representing the city of Sheffield. All the goblets are in excellent condition and none have been monogrammed. These exceptional goblets would look stunning in a group, or one single goblet (especially the massive one in the last group of photographs) placed on a table would make a definitive design statement and would add a touch of class and distinction to any wine and cheese event.
