| This is lovely sterling silver bowl by the highly regarded silversmiths Mappin & Webb in the Rococo Revival style. This oval, bateau-shaped bowl stands on four shell and scroll bracket feet and has elegantly formed and shaped sides with all-over pierced decoration of leafy silhouettes and scrolls. It is trimmed with a spiral gadrooned border with shell and vine designs at each corner. The deep, flared sides and undulating rim add drama and create a striking silhouette. This bowl in excellent condition and its pierced decoration is exceptional. It measures approx. 3 1/2” high and approx. 10 3/4” long, and weighs approx. 13.5 troy ounces. It is fully hallmarked under the base and has the maker’s mark and stamp of Mappin & Webb.
