This is a beautiful pair of sterling silver compotes by Reed & Barton in the renowned Francis I pattern. Each stands on a tall pedestal base with a wonderful leafy scroll border, and has a deep bowl with lobed or puffed sides that open up almost like a flower. The sides are decorated with clusters of flowers, leaves, and grapes at intervals and enclosed with a bold, scroll border. All of the decoration is exuberant and sophisticated, and beautifully interprets the French Rococo style. This pair of compotes is in excellent condition and is beautifully crafted. Each is marked under the base with the maker’s mark of Reed & Barton, the word Sterling, and pattern number X568, Francis I. Each measures approx. 4 1/2" high, 8” in diameter, and together weigh approx. 26 troy ounces. This is a rare pair of compotes in one of the most desirable silver patterns of the 20th century. These elegant compotes would enhance any table and would make a wonderful gift for a special occasion.   Price: $2,000.00   Stock #BC674
