| This is a magnificent sterling silver platter by the renowned silversmiths at Gorham in a timeless Rococo Revival style. This large, oval tray has a deep elongated center with a wide rim embellished with a lovely Rococo border of leafy scrolls and shells accented with flowers. This elegant border is exuberant yet refined and compliments the undecorated field of the platter. This platter is in excellent condition is an exceptionally heavy gauge, showing off Gorham’s superb craftsmanship. It measures approx. 23 1/2” long and 12” wide, and weighs approx. 67 troy ounces. It is marked under the base with the maker’s mark of Gorham, the word Sterling, 22 IN, the date symbol for 1873, and pattern number A2376.
