TIFFANY ANTIQUE SILVER CENTERPIECE BOWL CIRCA 1910

This is a beautiful and unusual sterling silver bowl made by premier silversmiths Tiffany & Co in an Islamic style. This large, circular silver bowl has stands on low footring and has rounded sides with a wide rim. The center of the bowl is decorated with a beautiful, stylized bird and is surrounded by swirls of leafy vines and sprays of fan-like leaves in the manner of a paisley print. The rim has a decorative border with six vacant rectangular cartouches between a scale-pattern at intervals. The exotic decoration is reminiscent of the Eastern designs of Owen Jones and other Aesthetic Movement designers. This bowl is in excellent condition and is a substantial weight and fine quality. It measures approx. 13 1/4” in diameter, and weighs approx. 36 troy ounces. It is marked under the base with the mark of Tiffany & Co., the words Makers, Sterling Silver, pattern number 18696A, order number 8683, and the letter M for John C. Moore, Tiffany’s president from 1907-1947. This beautiful silver bowl is an exquisitely decorative piece that would add an exotic and dramatic touch to any interior. An unusual and highly collectible piece!   Price: $5,500.00   Stock #BC679
