| This is a lovely 14 karat gold set comprising a pin and pair of earrings in the Renaissance Revival style. The pin has an architectural design consisting of a circular wire bar with pointed ends. The top is embellished with filigree wirework scrolls with ball accents, while the ends are similarly decorated with bands of delicate beading in patterns. A spherical bead with patterned beadwork hangs from the bar by two circular jump rings that allow the bead to swing. Each earring is comprised of a spherical bead with matching patterned beadwork and wirework scrolls on each side with a smaller spherical bead on top that attaches to a hinged piece that connects to a lotus or fan-like element that supports the earwire. These earrings are particularly versatile and easy to wear; they hang close to the face making them especially flattering. The pin measures approx. 2 9/16” wide and approx. 1” high, and each earring measures approx. 1 1/8” high and 9/16” wide. This set is a fine example of American jewelry design from around 1890.
