| This is a beautiful and highly unusual sterling silver tea caddy by renowned Baltimore silversmiths Samuel Kirk and Son. This lovely tea caddy is shaped in a traditional ginger jar shape with a removable lid that is covered with all–over decoration of repousséd flowers and leaves with a central scene on one side of a house complete with chimneys, pitched roofline, and a front porch. The floral decoration is exceptionally detailed and dynamically rendered with outstanding texture and variety. This tea caddy is in excellent condition and has the maker’s mark of S. Kirk & Son Co. (used from 1895-1925), 925/1000, and pattern number 13. It measures approx. 4 1/4” high. This distinctive tea caddy is an exceptional example of Kirk’s outstanding craftsmanship and a charming piece of silver for the tabletop, this tea caddy could be used as a decorative piece in any room in the house.
