| Here are two lovely sterling silver tapersticks that are fine examples of Georgian silver. Each has a shaped, square base with shell-like forms at each corner and lovely baluster stems also with shell-like decoration on the knops. Each taperstick also has a removable wax-pan with decoration conforming to the base that fits neatly into the banded, urn-shaped socket. One is engraved with a crest of an eagle facing left with outstretched wings and is marked under the base and on the wax pan with the hallmarks of William Café, London, 1759. The other is marked under the base with the hallmarks of Elizabeth Jones, London, 1794. Each is in very fine condition and very fine craftsmanship, and measures approx. 4 7/8” high and its base measures approx. 2 ¾” across.
