| This is a charming and unique set of sterling silver salts with matching slat spoons by renowned American silversmiths Tiffany & Co. that epitomize the era of dining opulence. Each salt dish features a small bowl in the shape of a fish supported on three shell feet. The interiors are each gilt and decorated to indicate the fishes’ fins and scales. Each salt has an accompanying salt spoon, with a round, gilt bowl and beautiful hammered handle, with engraved seaweed designs. Each piece is in very good condition with some pitting/discoloration on two spoons, and each salt is marked under the base with the mark of Tiffany & Co., the words Sterling Silver, pattern number 5257, order number 2928, and the letter M for Edward C. Moore, head of Tiffany’s design from 1873-1891, while each spoon also features Tiffany’s mark, the letter M for Moore, the word Sterling, the mark BT in a rectangle, and the number 300. Each salt measures approx. ½” high and 1 ½” long, and each spoon measures approx. 2 ¼” long.
