This is lovely, large-size sterling silver tray by Sheffield silversmiths James Dixon & Son. This lovely oval tray stands on four scroll-bracket feet and is engraved with wonderful neoclassical designs depicting garland swags of bellflowers draw up at intervals with bows, and oval medallions with furling ribbons. Beneath the swags are engraved designs of bellflower wreaths and sunburst medallions. The tray has a heavy, reeded border with lovely upturned, side handles that are also reeded with leaf embellishments. This tray is in excellent condition and is of very fine quality and gauge. It measures approx. 25 1/2” long over the handles and approx. 16 1/4” wide, and weighs approx. 108 troy ounces. It is fully hallmarked on the reverse and with the maker’s mark of James Dixon & Son. This very handsome tray is a wonderful example of the refined and elegant neoclassical style, and would make fine addition to any silver collection. Please note dulling spray used to block reflections in photograph, actual item has brillant polished surface.   Price: $8,500.00   Stock #ATCC
