| This is a beautiful pair of green-cut-to-clear crystal decanters topped by elegant sterling silver stoppers made by the Gorham Corporation.
The upper layer of the richly-colored emerald green crystal has been expertly cut to reveal the lower level of clear crystal beneath, creating a lovely swirling design topped by pretty wind-swept flowers and subtly emphasizing the circular shape of the decanters.
The lower portion of each has been cut all around into a diamond-shaped geometric pattern which adds additional visual interest.
Each of the bases has been finished with a deeply-cut multi-pointed star design.
The gracefully curving appled handles are of clear crystal and have a softly indented surface which reflects and refracts the light in a most appealing fashion.
The decanters have been stylishly crowned with sleek, streamlined hinged lids of sterling silver, each of which has been prettily enhanced at the top and the base by charming, beautifully-detailed miniature floral motifs.
The combination of the bi-colored crystal, the pretty sterling silver accents and the decanters elegant silhouettes makes for a most attractive presentation.
The crystal has good, crisply-cut facets with no chips or damage and the silver has a nice, soft patina.
The silver has been stamped with a pattern number, the word Sterling and the 3 identifying marks of the Gorham Corp. of Providence, R.I., together with the production symbol which Gorham used during 1881.
