Here is a lovely sterling silver basket by silversmiths James Dixon & Son of Sheffield. This oval basket has a deep bowl with plain field supported on an elegant footring shaped with Rococo scrolls. The sides of the bowl are intricately pierced with a delicate design of scrolls and leaves with charming parakeets hidden within the design. The flaring, wavy rim is accented with a molded scroll border that supports a swing arm handle also in a shaped, scroll design. This basket is in excellent condition and is without a monogram. It measures approx. 3 1/2” high, approx. 12 3/4” in diameter, and weighs 30 troy ounces. It is fully hallmarked, has the maker’s mark of James Dixon & Son and pattern number 7950. The large size of this basket makes it particularly useful in addition to its charming Victorian design.   Price: $3,250.00   Stock #BB448
