| From a large selection of engraved goblets, here is a beautiful sterling silver goblet by London silversmith Charles Boyton. The cup is supported on a delicate stem that flares into its stepped, circular foot. The top of the stem, central knop, and edge of the foot are all embellished with a delicate beaded band. The edge of the foot and the top of the stem are both accented with a large-scale beaded border. standing on a circular foot also with a delicate beaded border. The interior of the U-shaped cup is accented with a brilliantly colored gold-wash, while the exterior has been decorated on one side with two large leafy fronds that come together to form a vacant cartouche, and the other side is engraved with a symmetrical tree-like motif that is delicate and whimsical. Conforming engraved decoration of two leafy branches tied together encircle the base of the foot. This goblet is in excellent condition with very fine engraving. It measures approx. 7 3/4” high, and has an opening of 3 1/2” in diameter. It is fully hallmarked and has the maker’s mark of Charles Boyton below the rim.
