A beautiful example of Gorham’s Aesthetic-style silver, this serving spoon combines many decorative motifs and techniques. The handle has a wonderful hammered surface with an applied mixed metal leaf, branch and berry motif, while the elegantly shaped bowl has been engraved with a charming design of flowers and butterflies. This piece is a lovely example of the Japanese taste in late 19th-century metalwork, and includes many of the style’s most emblematic traits. The reverse of the handle has been stamped with the identifying marks of the Gorham Manufacturing Co., and the words Sterling & Other Metals. The spoon measures approx. 8 3/4" long, and is in very good condition overall. In addition to being a lovely example for any connoisseur, this serving spoon would provide striking decoration to any table.   Price: $745.00   Stock #AV965
