| This lovely urn-formed condiment jar by well-known American silversmiths Dominick & Haff of New York is a unique example of sterling silver and mixed metal in the Aesthetic style. The entire surface has been chased with a stylized ivy motif, and with applied mixed metal decorations of leafy bamboo branches and a butterfly. This piece is a lovely example of the Japanese taste, and includes many of the style’s most emblematic motifs. The jar is stamped under the base with the maker’s mark of Dominick & Haff, a date stamp of 1879, pattern number 276 F, and the word “Sterling.” The jar measures approx. 1 3/4" high, and is in very good condition overall.
