The expertly-made irridescent glass is a lovely softly-shimmering shade of pale blue-green and its color and aquatic qualities have been beautifully and skillfully enhanced by the addition of sterling silver overlay of the very highest quality.
A design of reeds and rushes flows sinuously down the neck of each vase and the base of each is encircled by an array of beautifully-executed entwined leaves and water lilies.
An elegant swan with a gracefully arching neck swims serenely amidst the reeds and blossoms atop the lattice-like depictions of the ripples of the lake.
The swans' bodies are exquisitely-detailed and all the water foliage has also been applied with great skill and attention to detail.
A swirling cartouche is artfully nestled amongst the flowers and leaves and has not been monogrammed.
These are really exceptional museum-quality vases with extraordinarily high quality craftsmanship.
They each stand approx. 12 1/2" tall and are marked Sterling together with the mark of the La Pierre Mfg. Co. which was responsible for the production of extremely high quality silver overlay items.
