| This is a most attractive gilded bronze picture frame decorated with an assortment of neo-classical motifs set against a grey-green silk background.
The inner and outer borders have each been decorated with a subtle design of overlapping leaves which also continue around the curved top. Each of the 4 interior corners has been highlighted with a be-ribboned laurel wreath, and to the left and the right of the picture opening a graceful young maiden with upswept hair and a flowing Greco-Roman robe carries wheat and tends to a fire in the company of a small boy.
At the top of the frame there is more decoration in the shape of a garland and ribbon swag crowned with a single flower.
The combination of all these elements is both elegant and charming.
The back of the frame has a hook for hanging together with a stand which has been covered with fabric to match the silk on the front.
The rest of the back has been left in its original condition.
All of the decoration is in very good condition and the figural forms are exquisitely-detailed.
The frame measures approx. 5" wide X approx. 7 1/2" tall.
