AMERICAN STERLING & MESH PURSE ON CHAIN, C. 1910
| A pretty little purse from the era when every well-bred young lady attended the country club ball with her beau on one arm and an exquisite little purse like this one on the other.
Its size and light airy mesh body made it the perfect accessory for any elegant soiree.
The gently curved sterling silver frame hangs from a 7" long silver link chain and is decorated on both sides with small floral sprays in the art nouveau style.
The clasp has been ingeniously formed from a pair of small interlocking flower buds.
The body of the purse is made from a series of delicate but strong interlocking metal links and when open provides ample room for a change purse, a lipstick, a compact, a handkerchief and any other small items deemed necessary for a young lady's night out on the town.
The inside of the frame is marked Sterling followed by the number 507.
It measures approximately 5 1/4" wide X 4 1/2" to the top of the clasp. Price: $950.00 Stock #AN419 |
