This set comprises 16 bowls and 16 plates. Each bowl: Conical with reeded interior rim and short stepped foot. Each plate: Well with wide and tapering shoulder and reeded rim.

In paneled stained-wood case with loose-mounted bracket handles and fitted velvet lining and separators. Mounted to cover interior is brass plaque with phrase: Presented to / Mr Cyrus H. K. Curtis was a magazine and newspaper publisher whose most popular titles included Ladies’ Home Journal and The Saturday Evening Post. He was immensely wealthy—one of the wealthiest Americans ever, in fact. He married twice, but his passion was yachting, which he called a “necessity” rather than a “hobby”.
