Pair of Regency sterling silver covered dishes. Made by Paul Storr in London in 1817. Each: Rectangular bowl has gadrooned rim with leaves and scallop shells. Double-domed cover has gadrooning and leaf bracket handle with lion’s heads mounted to patera. Engraved armorial with Latin motto Nihil Sine Labore (Nothing Without Work). Hallmarked.

Dishes are on Sheffield plate stands with detachable liners. Each stand has bold gadrooning with leaf-mounted volute scroll supports at corners. Leaf bracket handles with petal mounts at ends. Stands are original and marked Matthew Boulton.

Condition: Very good with nice period wear.
