French Silver Sauceboat by Bointaburet Paris Circa 1890

This is one of the most magnificent French 1st Standard Silver double sauceboats on stand with liners we have ever had in our store. The sauceboats, detachable liners and four-footed stand are each hallmarked with Bointaburet’s maker’s mark, 1st Standard Silver Hallmark for 950/1000 silver standard, and “Bointaburet a Paris.” The double sauceboat is designed in the French Eighteenth Century Style, with shell capped scroll form decoration and stylized wave form motifs. The sauceboats are beautifully conjoined with an entwined leaf capped handle and rest on 4 leaf capped scroll form feet. The sauceboat bodies and border of the stand are finished in a wave or stylized pleated motif. The original detachable silver liners are of plain design. This double sauceboat would be a true conversation piece on any table or buffet. Excellent Condition. Weight: 78 Troy Ounces. Length: 12 Inches. Width: 9 1/2 Inches.
