| This Aesthetic movement 19th Century Copper and Silver mounted tray was made in the Japanese style by Gorham Co. of Providence, RI, in 1882. The quatrefoil shaped copper tray is finely and realistically decorated with an applied naturalistic scene executed in silver, of a turkey and a Japanese stylized evergreen tree with a bird watching another bird in flight amidst engraved copper clouds.
The tray is a quintessential example of mixed metal artistry created in the third quarter of the 19th century.
It is hallmarked on the underside with an Anchor, Gorham Co. D84, and "o" for pieces made by Gorham in 1882.
The tray retains an oxidized copper and silver finish and is in very good condition. Price: $1,850 Stock #BF487 |
