Hand-hammered leaf with raised leaves and scalloped edges mounted to open stem comprising four leaves alternating with four pods turned-down on domed foot. C-scroll handle with applied leaf and stem terminating in pod mounted to curling under-leaf. A fine piece by the legendary Jensen-trained silversmith who emigrated to Canada in 1929. Hallmarked. Austrian Jugendstil casket in 800 silver. Rectangular with straight sides, flat hinged cover, and splayed block supports. Sides and cover paneled. Ornament stylized and curvilinear. Sides have corner flowers between whiplash lines. Cover has straps terminating in three-leaf flowers. Box and cover interior gilt. A desirable fin-de-siecle period piece.
