You won’t find a more wonderful pair of Art Nouveau trays. These were made by Tiffany & Co. in New York at the turn of the century. Each: a peacock’s tail embellished with flower heads and tendrils. The handle has pierced scrolls and a pair of nuzzling doves. Engraved script monogram. Hallmark includes pattern no. 14667 (first produced in 1901) and director’s letter T (1892-1902). Very good condition and patina.

On cover are two chased rectangular floral bands and central oval frame with presentation: To the officers of the / 65th / from Lt Colonel Warren. Cover has applied and scrolled tab. Box sides have two wrap-around chased floral bands. Box and cover interior lightly gilt and partitioned. A fine piece of 18th-century militaria.
