Art Nouveau sterling silver picture frame. Made by Stephen Henry Deakin & John Horace Francis in Birmingham in 1900. Shaped rectangular window in shaped surround with bracket feet. Chased asymmetrical ornament: Climbing and entwined flowers spilling over molded border, fluid scrolls, and scallop shells. Mounted to stained-wood back with hinged support. Glass beveled. Fully marked. Very good condition.

Japanese silver flask, ca 1900. Dense allover relief ornament: Scaly serpentine dragon with gaping jaws and big talons emerges from foaming and heaving waves. Bottom wavy. Plain short neck with hinged and cork-lined cover. There is also an interior threaded cap. Dramatic and tactile. Signed with Japanese characters. Very good condition with deep patina.
