These Circa 1900 wine coasters have a wide sterling rim with an inlaid wooden base. The inside of the rims are lightly etched with a simple design and highly polished. The inlaid wood has a decorative circular design in the center. They measure 1 3/4 inches in height and have diameters of 6 3/8 inches. They are hallmarked G J along with the Goodnow and Jenks symbol, and are also marked Sterling. They are in pristine condition.

A charming Antique English sterling silver wine coaster decorated with an ornate repousse motif featuring figural doves, large flowers and intricate scroll work. The unadorned collar of the coaster is pinched into a soft scalloped design and the rim of the coaster's base mimics the collar with a tighter scalloped edge. Made in London, England. Dated 1891. Fully hallmarked, excellent condition, nice patina. 5.5 Troy ounces, height 3 5/8", diameter 4 1/4".

This regal pair of English Victorian Sterling Silver Gilt Wine Coasters was made by the venerable London silversmith, Richard Sibley, in 1839. Each is fully marked around the rim of the foot, with the maker’s mark, lion passant sterling mark, leopard’s head for London, monarch’s mark of Queen Victoria, and the date letter “D” for 1839.
