This is a fine English Sterling Silver Gilt and Etched Crystal Decanter. A beautiful bulbous design mounted in sterling on the cover with a standing lion and shield, the lion is finely molded with a long mane very finely defined. Around the neck is a horned satyr* with a large and small beading above and below. The crystal body is finely etched with bunches of grapes and grape leaf. Cover is on a hinge. This decanter is a prime example of American Sterling Silver Overlay and Cranberry Glass at its best. Although unmarked, this decanter is made of the highest quality craftsmanship. The cranberry glass is overlaid with silver in an openwork pattern of scrolls and undulating grapevines centering an engraved cartouche form reserve with an entwined monogram. The decanter and detachable stopper are in excellent condition. Height: 13 Inches Overall.

This is a lovely clear overlay decanter. It is applied with leaves and grapes. The decoration is quite beautiful. The shape of the decanter is very unique. The matching stopper is also applied with leaves and grapes. It measures 9 ½” in height and 3 ½” in width. The overall condition is beautiful and the patina is excellent. Fully hallmarked with the Alvin hallmark.

A bell shaped etched Crystal Decanter with an ornate Sterling Silver stopper in the highly coveted “Chrysanthemum” pattern. This sterling silver mounted cut glass decanter was made by the silversmithing firm of Edward Streeter, London, in 1902. It is fully hallmarked on both the sterling silver hinged lid and collar. The cut glass body is cut in a hobnail motif with 4 heart shaped sections. The silver lid, collar and handle are repousse and chased with floral, scroll and foliate motifs. The decanter is in excellent estate condition with little or no evidence of wear. Height: 10 3/4 Inches.
