German sterling silver stirrup cup, ca 1920. Cast fox head with dense-striated fur, flexed-back ears, close-set eyes, and long snout; gaping mouth reveals prominent canine teeth. Plain and spread collar. A fierce and cunning hunt companion. Marked. Very good condition.

Set of 10 Art Deco sterling silver cocktail cups. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York, ca 1915. Each: Cone on baluster mounted to round foot. Spare and functional. Nice balance for swishing the booze around. Fully marked including maker’s stamp, pattern no. 18885 (first produced in 1915) and director’s letter m. Seven have order no. 547 and three no. 9. Very good condition.

Pair of German silver wedding cups. Imported to England by Martin Sugar in 1891. Each: Snug-fitting bodice and raised arms holding aloft scrolled brackets with swing-mounted double-domed bowl. Larger bowl in form of skirt. Chased and engraved strapwork and leafing scrolls. On back is a Green Man between conch-blowing cherubs. One in form of bosomy woman with crown. The other in form of hirsute man with wreath.

English Thatcher-era sterling silver champagne set, 1981-3. Retailed by Asprey in London. This set comprises 4 flutes and 1 tray.

Each flute: Ovoid bowl on gilt cast stem in form of fruiting grapevine with leaves and bunches set in open foot. Tray round with deep well; shoulder inset with same. A stylish way to remember the no-apologies, let-it-rip capitalism of the Eighties.

Set of 12 Midcentury Modern sterling silver cocktail cups. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York. Each: Curved conical bowl on tapering columnar stem with incised bands. Foot round and raised with applied cutout snowflake. A snowflake motif but not for snowflakes. These ones are for the grownups. Fully marked including maker’s stamp and postwar pattern no. 23411. One cup has director’s letter M (1947-56) and 11 have director’s letter L (1956-ca 1965). Very good condition.

German Baroque Classical silver wine beaker, 17th century. Urn bowl with three splayed ball supports. Clusters of fruits and vegetables and pendant ribbon bows. At top engraved presentation on occasion of child born in 1699. Gilt-washed interior. Marks include Nurnberg city stamp and maker’s stamp “I H / M”. Good condition with minor dents.
