A Handmade Sterling Silver Box decorated with an applied figural chariot scene plaque. The plaque consists of four prancing horses with a woman at the reins and it is framed by a beautiful beaded border. The opening tab is also decorated with the same charming beading. Made by William B. Meyers Co. of Newark, New Jersey- a noted maker of silver miniatures and ceremonial objects. The box is hallmarked with Meyer’s distinctive M makers stamp, STERLING and HANDMADE. This is a lovely heart shaped sterling silver openwork jewelry box made at the end of the 19th century. The hinged lid and base have a beaded border, the lid with applied repousse heart shaped floral wreathe. The body pierced with an openwork floral scrollwork design forming a heart shaped pattern. The interior lined with rich dark green velvet. The box is marked 5 and sterling. There is no evidence of a maker’s mark. Length: 5 1/2 inches. Width: 5 3/4 inches. Condition: Excellent
This is a late 19th century heart shaped sterling silver box by Mauser Mfg. Co. of New York City. The box has a hinged lid cast and repousse with scrolls and flowers forming a heart shaped vacant reserve. The body is cast and with a ribbon tied repousse floral wreathe. The box is fully marked with maker’s mark and pattern number 1703. The interior retains its original gilding. Length: 5 3/4 inches. Width: 5 1/4 inches. Weight: 8.75 Troy Ounces. Very Good Condition.
