An Antique American Brilliant Cut Crystal Vase decorated with a prominent Sterling Silver Mount. The sterling mount is adorned with an intricate applied band of flowers in a flowing Art Nouveau style that circles the lip of the vase. Made by Gorham Mfg.Corp., Providence, Rhode Island. This is a prime example of an American Brilliant Period Cut Glass and Sterling Silver Mounted Biscuit Box. The Sterling repousse scroll, shell and floral bordered lid was made by Dominick and Haff, New York, Circa 1910. It is marked with Dominick and Haff’s maker’s mark, style #245 and sterling. The sterling silver cover is fitted with tortoise shell and inlaid with a delicate scroll design. Made in Birmingham, England. Dated 1909. Fully Hallmarked with a full set of English stamps. This stately silver two-tiered crystal compote was made in the Austro-Hungarian Empire circa 1805. It was designed in the Neoclassical style, popular in England and Europe during that time period. This sterling silver mounted cut glass decanter was made by the silversmithing firm of Edward Streeter, London, in 1902. It is fully hallmarked on both the sterling silver hinged lid and collar. The cut glass body is cut in a hobnail motif with 4 heart shaped sections. The silver lid, collar and handle are repousse and chased with floral, scroll and foliate motifs.
